New Robot Welder

We have recently installed a new state of the art robot welding system. The robot was sourced from Germany and has significantly improved the quality of our components whilst also reducing the welding time by a factor of 3. The system has two stations which allows components to be loaded/unloaded whilst another component is being welded in the station next door. One station consists of a two-axis manipulator which can swing up to 3m diameter components weighing up to 1,500kg. The 2nd station contains a single axis head/tailstock arrangement and can process components up to 4m long and 500kg in weight. The robot can run unattended through break times and also run on for up to 1.5 hours after the shift has finished in order to maximise production.
